Marley and Me by John Grogan---Jeffery

Marley and Me is on of the best books I've ever read. It is basically Marley's life story; from the first day to the last. This book will make you laugh and make you cry. John Grogan makes this book interesting by not just going on and on about Marley, but he talks about what is going on with everyone, like his wife, his kids and his neighbors. I would really recommend this book to everyone that is a dog lover. Marley and Me is an amazing book.

Mesha meets author Kate Applegate

I read The One and Only Ivan by Katherine Applegate. The book was about a gorilla named Ivan who lives in the Exit 8 Big Top Mall. I saw Katherine Applegate and she gave a whole presentation about this book. I liked seeing Katherine Applegate because she was interesting. Katherine Applegate showed us a video about different gorillas bonding together. She also showed us a video abo0ut a kid who fell into the gorilla’s cage which showed that silver back gorillas can be gentle. Katherine got the idea for the book from a magazine article about Ivan the silver back gorilla.

The Evolution of Calpurnia Tate by Jacqueline Kelly

I would recommend this book as a terrific Ar book. It is about a girl who befriends her grandfather because they both love science and have gone through hard times like really hot days. Callie Vee is forced to do lady things like bake and cook, and she doesn't like them. She also spends time with her grandfather in his "laboratory" Together they make an amazing discovery.

I like this book because girls like me, always explore the world. I hope you will enjoy this book too.

This story is about a boy named Bud who is trying to find his Dad. He has to go on a journey to find him. Bud goes through different cities and meets different people that help him on his journey. On his way he has to find food and a place to sleep every night.

I liked this book because it was funny and surprising. I like historical fiction because I like learning about the past. This book is funny because Bud always says woop, zoop, slop and he keeps a book of rules which is funny too.

A Long Walk to Water by Susan Park

This story is about a boy named Salva and a girl named Nya who lived in Sudan Africa. Salva was at school but had to leave because there was a war going on. He couldn’t find his family but made a new friend. They had to go from camp to camp because they needed food, water and shelter. At some point in the story Salva’s cousin sends him an email about Salva’s father. Nya’s job for her family was to walk all day to a pool to get water.

I liked this book because I like historical fiction; I think it is really interesting.

Nightmare at the Book Fair by Dan Gutman

I read Nightmare at the Book Fair. The boy named Trip Dinkleman is on his way to lacrosse try outs when a teacher calls him in and tells him to help her move books to set up for the book fair. While he is moving the books they fall on him. When he wakes up he is actually living in the books. Trip goes through all the different genres such as horror, easy reader and fantasy.

It is very funny and has many adventures. I also liked it because it is surprising, you don't know what story he will be in next.

Because of Winn Dixie by Kate Dicamillo

This book is about Opal. She finds a dog in the grocery store and names the dog Winn Dixie. She just moved to a different part of Florida and she does not have any friends.

This is a great story. She found a dog that was not hers but she said that it was hers. I liked reading about her making friends after she got the dog.

Dear Mr Henshaw by Beverly Cleary

I read Dear mr. Henshaw. It is about a boyu that writes to an author for a school assignment. He picks Mr. Henshaw. Mr Henshaw writes back but his responce is silly. The boy's teacher does not like it, so he gets a bad grade. He keeps writing to Mr Henshaw and tells him about his life.

I liked it because it was funny but sad. In one of his letters he writes, "if my Dad was here he would tell you to climb a tree". It is sad because when he tries to call his Dad he doesn't answer and his Dad never calls him by his name.

Melvin Beederman, Superhero by Greg Trine

The characters in this book are Melvin and Candace. Melvin is a superhero that is very weak. He meets Candace when their capes are switched. After they meet they become partners and fight the bad guys.
I liked this book because they worked like a team. Melvin had some good times because he was funny and always saying "Holy!". He's also funny because he can't fly!
