Dear Mrs. Nelson,
Thank you for allowing Lois Lowry to come to our school. She talked about many things. I enjoyed her so much. Thank you. The one part that will stay in my mind forever is the part when she told us that in her book she made a mistake. The mistake is that the girl and father had squash colored hair.
From,
Norma R.
Dear Mrs. Nelson,
It was nice to meet Lois Lowry. We enjoyed her visit. I hope to see her again. She was cool. She has a very interesting way to write books. For instance, she wrote a book about a mouse because she saw one at her house.
Sincerely,
Vincent R.

Atta a Boy, Sam by Lois Lowry --Kristen
Sam, the main character, tries to make his mom perfume for a birthday present using all of her favorite smells. He also wants a kitten from the neighbor but his father is allergic. Since the perfume was not going well he decided to take a kitten for his Mom's present.
This book was funny! I liked it when Sam's perfume exploded and everything in the perfume went everywhere.

The Giver by Lois Lowry --Patricia
The GiverIs a wonderful book about a boy, Jonas, who finds he has been selected to be the community's next "Receiver". The "Giver" trains him for one year when Jonas decided to show the community a life of difference and no sameness. The plan was to have Jonas go to "Elsewhere" so all the different memories he has received go back to the community. The community will suffer but the "Giver" will help them through it. Then Jonas realizes a baby is due to be killed and he must decide what to do.
