Mesha read Heartbeat by Sharon Creech

This book is about a girl named Annie whose mom is pregnant. Annie's grandpa is forgetting little by little every day. Max is Annie's best friend who is always moody and wants a pair of running shoes. This book is mostly about Annie's relationships with all the characters. I liked Heartbeat because it's full of poetry and phrases. I like the poetry because it is more descriptive and it didn't always rhyme.

This book is about a girl named Dinnie. Dinnie's aunt and uncle bring her to Switzerland to get a proper education because Dinnie never had a permanent home. At the end of the school year it is hard to say bye, but Dinnie gets a surprise from her friend. I liked this book because it's about a girl going to school away from home. Beastly is about a teen named Kyle who was super popular but turned into a horrorable beast by a goth girl called, Witch, so he could learn to be nicer.

I liked it because even though it is a fantasy story and there is romance and a bit of mystery, the author made it real.

Tony on meeting authors

When writers come to our school, to talk to us they sometimes inspirer kids to become authors when they grow up; I personally think that I would stick to reading books instead of writing them because it is hard work to make up ideas. Sometimes when they talk about their book, they make me want to read their up coming books! When I went to the book store, I went to meet Lisa McMann!!! It was awesome to meet a good writer. She writes some incredible books that won’t let you put them down for nothing. Lisa McMann, just let out what looks like an awesome book called “The Unwanteds” it looks really good but I can't explain it because I haven’t read it yet but I will.. and when I do, I will post up a review!

Thank You Mrs. Nelson's Book Store!

Dear Mrs. Nelson,

Thank you for allowing Lois Lowry to come to our school. She talked about many things. I enjoyed her so much. Thank you. The one part that will stay in my mind forever is the part when she told us that in her book she made a mistake. The mistake is that the girl and father had squash colored hair.

From,
Norma R.

Dear Mrs. Nelson,

It was nice to meet Lois Lowry. We enjoyed her visit. I hope to see her again. She was cool. She has a very interesting way to write books. For instance, she wrote a book about a mouse because she saw one at her house.

Sincerely,
